"State Program Management Group" (SPMG) Uttarakhand is a Registered Society ,under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and its office is located at 117, Indira Nagar, Dehradun, 248006.

The area of operation of the society shall be the Gange River Basin, within the State of Uttarakhand. The Government of Uttarakhand and/or the State Ganga Committee (SGC) may in future, by executive orders expand the area of operation of the Society to such other river basins, as the SGC may decide for the purpose of effective abatement of pollution and conservation of the rivers in the state. The SPMG established by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DWS), in the Department's capacity as the Nodal Department for implementing the program of the SGC within Uttarakhand, shall act as an autonomous body for achieving the objectives defined.
